For young people in India, XOLO is attempting to offer respectable mobile phones at a reasonable price. Recently, they introduced XOLO Black. It is a good smartphone to use and the first model in the Black series. To learn more about this smartphone, keep reading.
Design
The XOLO Black is only offered in black, as the name would imply. This smartphone has a wonderfully sleek and contemporary appearance. On the sides, a grey frame with a metal finish supports the body. It has a very modern appearance because to the elegantly curved side walls.
Even the dual camera module is aligned with the back panel, making the device’s front and back totally flat. Asymmetrically, the two lenses are positioned on either side of the rear flash. The back panel includes a glass layer and is also black in colour. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 is used for protection on the front and back glass panels. The cell phone is also scratch-resistant. On the back panel, users will also notice the XOLO and HIVE logos.
The 5.5-inch full HD screen on the XOLO Black is available. Below the display, there are soft keys that are off-screen, but we think they are positioned too broadly and are too small. Until they are pressed, they are dark or opaque by default. Even though the phone is a little heavy, using it with one hand is really comfortable.
Users cannot replace the battery on their own because it is not removable. Two SIM cards, one of which is micro and the other is nano, can fit in a smartphone. The mobile phone’s left side houses the SIM slot. The second SIM slot can accommodate a microSD card in addition to the nano SIM. Yes, the card slot is a hybrid one. Along with the volume keys, the power button is situated on the right side of the phone. We thought the breathing effect-driven LED notification that surrounds the power button was rather humorous. Both the 3.5mm headset jack and the USB port are on the top and bottom of the phone, respectively.
Performance
The 1.5GHz Octa-Core processor and 2GB of RAM on the XOLO Black enable optimal performance of programmes and services. Additionally, customers receive 16GB of internal RAM for file storage. Users have the ability to add up to a 32GB microSD card on top of that to store more files. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (2nd Gen) chipset powers everything. There is also an Adreno 405 on board for graphics.
The dual camera system at the back of this phone is its biggest selling point. The smartphone sports a primary 13-megapixel camera and a secondary 2-megapixel sensor. There is a 5-megapixel secondary camera for selfies. The front and back cameras each have a separate LED flash.
There are two camera apps: the dual camera app and the regular one. If one wants to use the twin cameras, they must do it using the dual camera app. Users of the dual camera app can shoot first and focus afterwards thanks to UBIFocus. Additionally, the camera has ChromaFlash and OptiZoom for improved flash output. Pictures taken by the camera are incredibly detailed. The visual quality was quite good, even in locations with little light and darkness.
Video galleries and music apps functioned flawlessly. In relation to it, the audio quality is excellent. The quality of the video, images, and screens is superior. Gaming is one area where the phone experiences some stress. This phone gets a little heated after prolonged usage, so you can’t play games on it for too long. Additionally, playing high-end games on a smartphone frequently causes it to hang, making it impossible to enjoy them. On the plus side, the audio in-game was quite audible and clear.
The XOLO Black features a 3,200 mAh battery inside, which brings us to the topic of battery life. With a full charge, it operated for more than 23 hours (under nominal use). AnTuTu Benchmark was used to test the phone, and it received a score of 31,593 points, which is a respectable result for a mobile device.
Verdict
The XOLO Black is unquestionably designed for young people and photography enthusiasts. The voice quality is excellent, and users have little trouble understanding what is being said. We did appreciate the phone’s good aesthetics and elegant design. Additionally, it has several wonderful qualities that are admirable. It also works with 4G. The 64 bit HIVE UI customised for the XOLO Black runs on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. The experience was mostly smooth, and there are a respectable variety of apps available. For Rs 12,999, the XOLO Black is yours to purchase—a price appropriate for this miracle.
