The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is a dated device that was once among the company’s most popular models. There is good news in store for those who still own the mobile since it is still largely in use. A MIUI 10-based OTA upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow is being applied to the smartphone.
This update is anticipated to be the last one that Xiaomi will provide because the device is quite old. This is apparently intended to introduce the new UI-based update to the existing customers. The Redmi Note 3 update is anticipated to include Quick switch and a split-screen capability. Redesigned volume sliders, a natural sound system, full-screen gestures, improved multitasking management, and other features will be added to the device.
The smartphone is expected to receive a security patch in July 2018. The MIUI 10.1.1.0 MHOMIFI version of Android is 261MB in size. We’ll explain how to upgrade your phone for your convenience. It will be automatically downloaded to the smartphone because it is an OTA (Over-the-Air) update. It doesn’t require manual updating.
You may check your phone’s update status by going to Settings>General settings>About phone. You might see the MIUI version that is installed on your phone here. System updates can also be checked by going to settings>general settings>about phone. You’ll notice an AndroidVersion section at this point. If it reads 6.0, your phone has the update installed; otherwise, you can choose to update right now.
Speaking of the device’s specs, it has a Qualcomm MSM8956 Hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor. There are two RAM options for the mobile device: 2GB and 3GB, with 16GB and 32GB of internal storage, respectively.
A microSD card slot on the gadget allows for data storage of up to 256GB. A single 16MP camera and a 5MP selfie camera are both present. The non-removable, massive 4,050mAh battery powers the smartphone. WiFi 802.11, hotspot, Bluetooth 4.1, infrared port, GPS, FM radio, and microUSB 2.0 cable are among the connectivity possibilities. The phone is available in three colours: grey, silver, and gold.
