Will the iPhone 13 get cheaper right after the Apple launch event?
According to past patterns, Apple will reduce the price of the iPhone 13 shortly after announcing the iPhone 14. Soon after the release of the iPhone 13 last year, the costs of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 11 were reduced by $100 (about Rs 8,000). The cost of the older versions should also decrease this year. But will Apple lower prices also in India?
Prices for the older M1 model increased rather than decreased when the Macbook Air M2 was introduced earlier this year. While Apple reduced the price of the M1 in the US, the model now costs Rs 99,990 instead of Rs 92,990 as it did at launch, an increase of Rs 7,000. Apple did not provide an official justification for the price hike, but it is generally accepted that the worldwide chip scarcity and price rise in India may be to blame.
This causes some difficulty for Indian customers purchasing the iPhone 13 as a result. There is some good news, though. Recently, reductions on the iPhone 13 were announced by Amazon and Flipkart. The 256GB model is currently available for Rs 75,999 on Flipkart and Rs 76,900 on Amazon. The pricing of the 128 GB model on Flipkart is Rs 65,999, which is Rs 14,000 less than the original list price. So, the iPhone 13 would be a wise purchase right now.
When will iPhones be able to use the full version of Apple iOS 16?
The global chip scarcity will have an impact on more than just the cost of the iPhone 13. Many observers believe that the iPhone 14’s less expensive models may still use the A15 Bionic CPU featured in the model year’s predecessor, with the Pro and Pro Max models receiving the A16 chipset.
If this occurs, there is less chance that the iPhone 13 will become more affordable because it will have almost identical specifications as the new iPhone. While there is currently much speculation, as the September 7 Apple launch event draws nearer, more will start to become obvious. Keep an eye on this space for any updates.
