360 Spatial Sound and Sound Field Optimization are features that come with the Sony HT-A9 home theatre system and HT-A7000 soundbar. The A9 creates twelve phantom speakers that completely surround the room in genuine spatial sound by carefully estimating the relative height and placement of each speaker using twin microphones. With only a few clicks of the remote, Sound Field Optimization may be turned on and will instantly begin to auto-calibrate. The four speakers are connected wirelessly, so there are no cords running throughout the living area.
The HT-A9 uses Sony’s newest Omnidirectional Block Design to create a 7.1.4ch surround sound experience. The cylindrical shape emits sound in all directions and resembles a single solid block. Its light pearl grey colour is intended to blend perfectly with the decor, and its flat back surface fits neatly against the wall. While the 7.1.2ch soundbar on the HT-A7000.
Dolby Atmos and DTS:X enable the HT-A9 and HT-A7000 to produce a virtual sound field. The HT-A9 and HT-A7000 both have sound outputs of 804W and 900W, respectively, which may give the user better views. Both audio devices now support DSEE Extreme, which upscales compressed digital music in real-time. Additionally, the HT-A9 and HT-A7000 soundbars include voice activation and work with both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
