In the US, Samsung has unveiled its newest line of Smart Things gadgets. SmartThings Cam, SmartThings WIFI Smart Plug, and SmartThings Smart Bulb are some of the recently released items. All of these are offered on Samsung.com and at a few local stores, such Best Buy. Samsung launched the SmartThings Hub and Sensors last year, and its new line of smart home gadgets this year. Here are some of the salient facts regarding them:
Cam for SmartThings
The SmartThings Cam’s wide-angle camera gives you a 145-degree view of your home while other indoor cameras are only able to provide a 130-degree view. The gadget boasts a night vision capability in addition to a full HD camera.
Using the SmartThings app, the SmartThings Cam allows you to keep an eye on your family and home from anywhere. If the gadget discovers anything unusual, it will automatically give you a notification. It is able to tell cars apart from people, animals, and other objects. Additionally, you can effortlessly speak with the gadget using your smartphone thanks to the built-in two-way audio capability.
A free 24-hour cloud storage period is included with the gadget. However, you must connect up to four SmartThings Cams to get this. In addition to the extra capacity, if you want to connect up to 8 SmartThings cameras, the device will also provide you 30 days of premium cloud storage for $7.99 per month or $80 per year. The gadget can link to Bixby, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant. The gadget currently only has a $90 price tag and has only been released in the US.
Wi-Fi Smart Plug for SmartThings
Samsung has also included the SmartThings Wi-Fi Smart Plug in its new line of gadgets. Any lamp, small appliance, or electronic item can be connected to the Smart Plug with voice control functionality. Since there is no USB connector on the side, the gadget is small. In the event of a power or internet outage, it can be manually turned on and off.
The device is available for purchase for $18 and supports Bixby, Google Assistant, and Alexa.
SmartBulb for SmartThings
Samsung’s Smart Bulb is advertised as being both economical and energy efficient. With the aid of voice assistance, the Bulb can emit a warm white light that can be adjusted and tuned to your needs. Bixby, Google Assistant, or Alexa may all be used to voice-control the Smart Bulb. The device can also be managed via SmartThings Hub and the SmartThings App.
