In the first half of 2019, the business plans to release a new range of smartphones in India following the successful introduction of the Galaxy M-series. The company anticipates that this new launch will help it reach its 2019 goal of $4 billion in revenues from India.
Samsung’s India chief marketing officer, Ranjivjit Singh, reportedly stated that the company intends to release a Galaxy A-series smartphone every month from March to June. He didn’t disclose any specifics or specifications about the forthcoming smartphone series in the interview, but he did remark that the devices will cost between Rs 10,000 ($141) and Rs 50,000 ($703). It should be mentioned that Samsung performed quite poorly in the Chinese market, losing the majority of the market to Chinese smartphone manufacturers. Samsung is developing a new business model as a result of the lesson it learned from China, and the A-series is only one of many moves it is taking in that direction. More than 350 million people in India currently use the most basic feature phone. Samsung intends to attract those people by releasing its smartphones in the mid-range smartphone market. The corporation seeks to obtain an advantage over them after experiencing fierce competition from Chinese smartphone manufacturers including Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, and OnePlus.
The business constructed the largest mobile phone manufacturing facility in the world in NCR in 2018. The world’s largest mobile phone store was subsequently opened in Bengaluru.
Samsung is currently paying close attention to the Indian market. To compete with other smartphones in the affordable market, it unveiled its M-series smartphones last month. The Galaxy S10 and its variations will thereafter be released as the company’s flagship in February. Additionally, the business wants to outperform its rivals with the new A-Series.
As it concentrates on the Indian market, the South Korean tech behemoth is moving in the right direction. However, the competition will be fierce, and the Indian smartphone market will heat up.
