A simple approach to access the internet on a different device is by setting up a personal hotspot on your iPhone, especially if you’re outside and can’t access a public WiFi. Your hotspot may, on sometimes, experience some unexpected issues that prevent you from using the internet. Here are the top 5 fixes to prevent the iPhone hotspot from disconnecting or ceasing to function.

Turn your hotspot back on
Sometimes, after a prolonged period of inactivity, your iPhone will disable the hotspot by itself. While some may find it annoying, this feature actually helps to save the battery life of your iPhone and protects your data from being accessed by other foreign devices that might connect to your iPhone.
To turn it back on, simply go to Settings>Personal Hotspot.
Check Data Usage
Once your mobile data has been used up, your iPhone hotspot may no longer function. Check under Personal hotspot in Settings>Mobile data to see if you’ve used up all of your allotted data.
Disable Low Power Mode
Your iPhone can automatically be in Low Power Mode if it has a low battery. In order to conserve power, Low Power Mode turns off all auxiliary features and only leaves the necessary apps running on your phone. This could result in the shutdown of background processes including app updates, downloads, and the personal hotspot.
Disable Low Power Mode by going to Settings > Battery.
Disable Low Data Mode
Similar to Low Power Mode, which can be activated to reduce excessive mobile data usage. All of your background processes that utilise mobile data will be disabled once you enable it. Included in this is your own hotspot.
Go to Settings>Mobile Data>Mobile Data Options and choose your primary SIM card to turn off Low Data Mode. In the popup that appears, disable Low Data Mode.
If you’re still using an older version of iOS, you might want to update to the most recent version. Once a new iOS version is released, some problems are infamous for appearing on earlier ones.
Go to Settings>General>Software update to update your device to the most recent version of iOS.
