A positive piece of news has appeared online for Game of Thrones fans in India with just two weeks until the premiere of the show’s concluding season. Hotstar, an Indian video streaming service, will simultaneously broadcast Game of Thrones Season 8 in India.
As a result, Hotstar users in India will be able to watch Game of Thrones’ eighth season at the same time as it airs on HBO in the US. Previously, this wasn’t the case because it took a few hours for the show to be broadcast on Indian channels and platforms.
This time, Game of Thrones episodes will begin airing on HBO in the US on Sunday, April 14, at 9 p.m. ET. At the same time, viewers in India will be able to watch the show on Hotstar on Monday, April 15, at 6:30 a.m. IST. The discrepancy in transmission time between the two nations is caused by the approximate 9 hours and 30 minute time difference between the ET and the IST.
Numerous Game of Thrones fans in India will no doubt be thrilled to hear the news because it essentially means no spoilers. Spoilers for the episodes used to be all over Twitter when people had to wait a while for the show, and finding them annoyed some people. Prior to the official premiere date, Hotstar also unveiled posters and teasers for Game of Thrones. As previously indicated, the earlier seasons were broadcast in India at 7:30am IST or later because they were done airing on HBO in the US.

It should be mentioned that since the premiere of Season 5, Game of Thrones hasn’t been simulcast in India. At the time, HBO in the US and Star World both broadcast it simultaneously. However, because of the self-censorship restrictions of Indian TV, a modified and censored version of Game of Thrones was shown. Game of Thrones was censored because it features numerous sequences that feature nudity, sex, gore, mature language, and intense violence.
Game of Thrones’ last season will debut on Hotstar in India starting on April 15. On Monday nights, audiences will also be able to watch it on Star World.
