You have the option to manually detect any externally attached hardware with Windows. Simply follow the instructions listed below to connect your TV or monitor.

Step 1: Select System from the Windows Settings menu.

Step 2: From the left-hand panel, choose Display.

Step 3: Select Detect under Multiple Displays by scrolling down.

Check the Projection Setting

Your computer will look for a display device. Continue to the next option if it is unable to identify the TV or monitor you are attempting to connect.

  • PC Screen Only: This setting will only display your screen on your PC and no other secondary display unit. If your TV/monitor isn t displaying anything, it may be because you ve selected this option.
  • Duplicate: Choosing this option will project your PC screen on the secondary display unit.
  • Extend: If you want your display to be stretched across two monitors, select Extend. Your display will be split into two equal portions and displayed across the two monitors.
  • Second Screen Only: Selecting this option will project your display on the secondary TV/monitor only.

Update Display Driver

You can choose from a number of projection settings in Windows 10, including PCscreen alone, Extend, Duplicate, and the Second screen only. Your projection settings might be set to PC Screen only if your secondary monitor or TV isn’t showing anything. It can be resolved by changing the projection settings. To open the Projection Settings menu, simply press Windows Key + P, or type “Projection Settings” into the Windows search box. When the options appear, choose the projection mode you prefer.

Your PC might not be able to recognise a second display unit connected via HDMI if your drivers are out of date. To update the pertinent drivers, adhere to following instructions.

Step 1: To open the Windows Quick Access Menu, press Windows Key + X.

Select Device Manager in step two.

Step 3: Select Display Adapters by clicking the downward-pointing arrow.

Step 4: Update the graphics driver by right-clicking it.

Change Multiple Display Operating Mode

Step 5: Choose Search automatically for updated driver software if you wish to get an updated driver from the internet. Choose Browse my computer for display software if you don’t have internet access, then pick Microsoft’s Basic Display Adapter.

Step 1: Select Graphic Properties by doing a right-click anywhere on your desktop.

Step 2: Choose Basic Mode and press OK.

Step 3: Under the display section, choose Multiple Displays.

4. Click Operating Mode and check to see if the external display unit is mentioned. If so, choose to duplicate or expand your screen from the menu. Update your display driver if it isn’t already.
