Last year, Acer collaborated with Indkal Technologies in India as the exclusive licensee to market and sell AcerTVs there. India is where the TVs are being made. For the second year in a row, the company has unveiled a fresh lineup of I-series smart TVs. We were fortunate to get our hands on the 55-inch version of the largest brother, which comes in sizes up to 32 inches. Is this 55-inch Acer I-series smart TV worth buying, according to our review? Let’s investigate.

Acer I-series smart TV review: Design
The Acer I-series smart TV initially resembles the majority of other TVs on the market, but with very subtle distinctions. In addition to having thinner bezels than most, the smart TV also has a smaller bottom chin bezel area than most. The LED indication and IR receiver are located beneath the Acer branding, which is located at the bottom of the device up front. Here is also where the power button, which also serves as the function key, is located.
The Acer I-series smart TV may be mounted on a wall or placed upright on a table. It’s great that the wall mount is included in the box because it eliminates the need for additional spending. The 55-inch grade-A LED panel occupies the majority of its front surface. All of the ports are situated on the back. These are positioned on the side for simple access. There are two USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet, an antenna, three HDMI connectors, an AV in port, and a 3.5mm headphone port among the ports. On the opposite side of the panel is where the power port is located.
Under the panel, two 15W speakers are perfectly concealed. Since they fire downward, keeping the Acer I-series smart TV on a table will enhance the sound. This TV is not the slimmest on the market when it comes to thickness. It is 2.25 inches thick at its thinnest point and increases to 2.75 inches at its thickest point. For a flat panel, this is not bad, although there are TVs that are considerably slimmer and more expensive.
The Acer I-series smart TV also comes with a fully functional remote. It has several keys that control practically all of the TV’s features. When you first switch on the TV, you may easily pair them together since the remote is Bluetooth-enabled. To pair, simply hold down the home and OK buttons on the remote control while bringing the device within one metre of the TV. Additionally, the remote has buttons specifically designated for Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, and Hotstar. To use voice commands, there is also a Google assistant button.

Overall, the TV’s design is not particularly noteworthy. However, the simplistic design suits us because it forces you to concentrate solely on the picture screen.
Acer I-series smart TV review: Performance
Let’s talk about the Acer I-series smart TV’s watching experience now. The work that went into making this TV by Acer is excellent. With each new day, you grow more and more in love with the exhibition. This TV offers a wide variety of audio and visual features for the optimum viewing experience, something that many other TVs in the same price range lack.
The Acer I-series smart TV has a unique sound equaliser function that other smart TVs of this size do not have. Additionally, this TV supports Dolby Audio and surround sound, which actually gives the speakers a lot of life. For small to medium-sized rooms, they do produce a simulated sound experience at maximum volume, but for huge halls, you might want to pair it with a few additional speakers or a sound bar.
The Acer I-series smart TV provides an excellent viewing experience. We tried it out for about a week, and we were extremely pleased with everything. The colours and details in a UHD video on this TV are stunning because 4K is enabled. Although not exceptionally deep, the blacks are not poor. When watching HD and higher resolution videos on this smart screen, the colours certainly stand out. Support for HDR10+ and HLG results in more colourful imagery.
It was fun to watch TV episodes and movies on Netflix and Disney+ Hotstar. Let’s first talk about the setup, though. If you have an Android smartphone, which the majority of us do, you may connect to your local Wi-Fi router and complete the setup in 3–4 steps by simply following the on-screen directions. Returning to the OTT experience, we had a great time with every aspect of it. On this TV, our favourite shows and movies appeared considerably better. Additionally, the Acer I-series smart TV significantly decreases noise. When we played upscaled shows with buddies, we put this to the test. You perceive a smoother image and less noise overall. In fast-paced action sequences or automobile chases in movies and television shows, we also did not discover any ghosting.
Dual-band Wi-Fi is also included with the TV, allowing you to connect to either 2.4GHz or 5GHz routers. This is fantastic for those who frequently watch television on OTT services like Netflix or others. As a result, moving pictures are uninterrupted. The Android 11 for TVs operating system, which powers the Acer I-series smart TV, is very user-friendly. The OS is excellent at recommending the shows you should watch or haven’t finished once you start viewing. The OS is simple to navigate, and the included remote generally works well. Voice instructions are always an option for the remaining situations, and they generally function effectively.
Additionally, you can attach an external webcam to it and use Google Duo to hold meetings or call loved ones. The Acer I-series smart TV comes with a tonne of preloaded apps, but you can always visit the Play Store app in the TV’s OS for more. 178 degrees of viewing angles are supported by this flat screen, so regardless of where you are seated in the room, you will see realistic colours and films.
Review of the 42-inch Acer P Series Android TV: Quite decent for the price
The Acer I-series smart TV has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage as standard. This is paired with a MALI GPU and a quad-core 64-bit CPU. Together, they do speed up the TV’s operation. However, adding 1 GB or RAM would have improved everything, including multitasking support.
Verdict
Additionally, the Acer I-series smart TV uses 145W of electricity, which is a little less than its rivals. Does it merit purchase for Rs. 37,999 then? That merits a yes. In the Indian market, it is Rs 5,000–7,000 less expensive when compared to the competition. This intelligent 4K flat panel has a lot going on. With Dolby compatibility, you get good colours, a bezel-less design, and extremely respectable audio. Yes, the blacks could have been deeper, and yes, we would have had an extra GB of RAM, but we suppose the corporation needs to omit something for the upcoming version as well. Overall, the Acer I-series smart TV can be a good choice if you’re looking to get a large-screen TV.
