CMD, also known as Command Prompt. The default command-line interpreter for Windows is Command Prompt. In plain English, you can say that cmd is the PC’s Commander, which utilises some commands to tell Windows how to behave. CMD can help you escape a frozen app if you find yourself in a sticky situation. Simply click Win+R on your computer, then go through the following steps:

  1. Now that you have pressed the key combination, you will see a popup window on your screen
  2. Just type shutdown/s on it to shutdown your PC and that is it. Or else you can restart your PC by typing shutdown/r instead of shutdown/s.

When an app freezes, you can restart or shut down your computer using this method.
