We frequently use keyboard shortcuts when working on a computer or a document. They are used by certain persons more often than others. Shortcuts on the keyboard expedite tasks that would otherwise require us to open a menu and select a few alternatives. Keyboard shortcuts are therefore elements of convenience and speed. The 15 Microsoft Word keyboard shortcuts listed below are ones that new users should be familiar with and use.
1) Ctrl+N new, empty document window is opened. This is the most basic and frequently used.
2) To highlight text, press Shift + Arrows.
By holding down the Shift key and then moving the arrows up, down, left, or right, you can pick the text by utilising this shortcut. The following actions can be taken after you have highlighted the text.
3) Ctrl + B for bold
Ctrl+I for italics
You may quickly style your regular text into bold or italics with this shortcut.
4) Pressing Ctrl+Shift+> increases the font size of the selected text by one.
Ctrl+Shift+ reduces the font size of the selected text by one.
5) Shift+F3: This keyboard shortcut allows you to switch the text’s case, putting capital letters at the start of each word, from uppercase to lowercase or capitalised.
Sixth) Ctrl+X = Cut
Copy is Ctrl+C.
Paste is accomplished by pressing the keys Ctrl and V.
You can quickly copy or extract a section of the text to put it somewhere else by utilising the shortcut shown above.
7) Ctrl+Z is undo. With this shortcut, you can undo changes made to a document if you mistakenly delete some text while working on it.
8) Pressing Ctrl + Home will take you to the first page or document. End of page or document: Ctrl+end.
9) Pressing Ctrl+F will bring up the Find tool, allowing you to search for a word or phrase without having to read the entire text.
10) Save with Ctrl+S. saving your document After selecting Save As and continuing to make changes, you can press Ctrl+S to save any changes you’ve made.
11) Pressing Ctrl + P prints the document. You can choose the printer properties from the window that will be opened.
Ctrl+Enter causes a page break (12). You can insert a page break wherever you choose in the document with this shortcut.
The line or selected text is aligned to the left of the screen by pressing the keys Ctrl + L.
The line or selected text is aligned to the centre of the screen by pressing Ctrl+E.
Ctrl+J justifies the screen’s alignment of the currently chosen text or line.
Ctrl+Alt+1 changes the text to the first heading.
Ctrl+Alt+2 text is changed to heading 2.
Ctrl+Alt+3 text is changed to heading 3
15) Pressing Ctrl + W closes the active document. You will receive a dialogue box asking you to save your document if it is not already.
