There are a tonne of Windows applications that a user may have installed, but either they are suspect or the company has stopped supporting them. It happens frequently that a certain application is installed and using system resources in the background even when you or your system no longer need it. Ten of these applications that need to be removed from your system are included in this list.
1. CCleaner
The cleaning programme was formerly the most well-liked and reliable programme for your Windows computer. The programme was especially well-liked for keeping your computer clean and free of clutter. When avast acquired it, the application’s repute began to decline. Without the users’ permission, the application started to force updates in the background. The data collection option becomes enabled automatically as soon as the application is relaunched. The software industries were made aware of the fact that CCleaner itself had begun unintentionally spreading malware. Third-party cleaners are no longer necessary because Windows comes with built-in tools for clearing out trash files.
2. QuickTime
Apple’s video player service is called Quicktime. Even though the corporation hasn’t released a Windows update since 2016, it’s still functioning well on macOS. Soon after Apple revealed that the programme for Windows was being deprecated, a company by the name of Trend Micro stated that the software has minimal vulnerabilities. The company did not provide adequate help, so those problems were never fixed. Since there are so many third party players on the market, uninstalling QuickTime won’t be a big deal.
3. uTorrent
The benchmark for torrent file downloads for a very long period. The conflict arose when it was discovered that the corporation was bundling cryptocurrency mining software without disclosing it to users. Aside from this, the interface of uTorrent started to load with a lot of advertisements. When all of this was combined, the system had to consume a lot of resources in the background in order to make money for the business. Users no longer need to fear as there are numerous torrent applications available, such as qBittorrent, which is free and features an ad-free interface. Additionally, the business promotes frequent updates, which are crucial for any product.

5. Adobe Flash Player and Shockwave Player
By the end of December 2020, the firm stopped providing support for the application. All current browsers block the flash player, but there are still local files on your PC that could lead to security flaws. In 2019, Adobe stopped supporting the Shockwave player, a comparable plugin. There are probably no websites out there that support these plugins. As a result, these antiquities from a bygone age should be deleted from your computer system as even Adobe no longer updates or supports them.
6. Microsoft Silverlight

The best course of action is to remove all of these toolbars and clean up the browser extensions that have been added. Additionally, constantly verifying the already functional extension as the owners may have sold it to an unscrupulous business.

8. Java
It’s not necessary to have it on your computer unless you’re an Android developer or a developer who needs Java development tools. Others may view this as yet another media runtime application that fewer websites employ today. There are two parts to the runtime. The first one is desktop Java, and the second one is a browser plugin. Additionally, it was discovered that the browser extension has numerous security issues. Both have lost support in modern browsers like Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. A typical user won’t notice any changes in browsing after deleting these Java components.
9. Pre-installed apps by manufacturers
A lot of junk from other firms comes pre-installed on Surface Pro unless Windows is being used. The HP, Dell, Lenovo, and Toshiba laptops are particularly vulnerable to this issue. Some of them include pointless side options for Windows utility utilities, photo apps, gaming tools, and other software. 10. Windows Bloatware
Bloatware from manufacturers is irritating on its own, but Windows also has a good amount of it. Some pointless Xbox games and applications might be helpful to some people but not to others. They have the advantage that the most of them can be easily uninstalled. Look over the applications that are already installed on the system and keep an eye out for any that don’t seem to be very useful.
